According to Jeff Gilkey, Director of the Yell County Office of Emergency Management, the Arkansas Department of Health will be conducting sound level tests on several sirens that are part of the siren warning system around Arkansas Nuclear One on May 27 through May 29.  As part of the testing process, a few sirens will be tested by sounding them individually for up to one minute while personnel monitor the results.

The testing will not affect the readiness of the system in the event of an emergency.  You may hear one individual siren at a time sound. This testing will not indicate that there is an emergency.
