Just after 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 5th, officials with the City of Pottsville updated River Valley Now concerning the boil water advisory that was issued on October 3, 2019. Officials state that they have received the results from the water samples tested and the boil water advisory has been lifted at this time.

Officials from the City of Pottsville contacted River Valley Now and are advising residents in the area of Pine Ridge Road, Pottsville High School and the Pottsville Junior High that a BOIL ORDER ADVISORYis in effect.

Under a boil-water advisory (BWA), the Centers for Disease Control and Preventionrecommends that water be brought to a rolling boilfor one minute before it is consumed in order to kill protozoa, bacteria and viruses.
