Members of the community are invited to attend Dinner with Hershel “Woody” Williams, USMC, that will be held on Friday, March 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lake Point Conference Center located at 171 Lake Point Lane in Russellville.

Hershel “Woody” Williams, USMC, is the only living World War II Marine veteran to have been awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.

At 95, Woody spends his time traveling the United States on behalf of his Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation, raising awareness of American Gold Star Families. “Gold Star Families” is a term that has come to designate the families of our nation who have lost a loved one in battle.

Woody will be in Arkansas this weekend as part of the Arkansas Run for the Fallen and to also kick-off efforts for the construction of a Gold Star Families Memorial Monument In Russellville. This dinner is a fundraising event for that effort. The event was organized by Humphrey Funeral Service.
