National EMS Week is May 17-23, 2020.  Authorized in 1974 by President Gerald Ford, EMS Week is a way to pay tribute to EMS practitioners and professionals who selflessly dedicate their professional lives responding to emergency calls and saving lives.

Pope County EMS will be honoring it’s EMS professionals this week with a catered lunch to recognize their tireless commitment and contribution to keeping our communities safe, while also combatting the coronavirus.

EMS Director Doug Duerr, “I am honored to work with such an incredibly dedicated team of EMS professionals.  Their commitment to our communities is unwavering even amidst the current crisis.”

River Valley Now offers our sincere thanks to all EMS EMT’s, Paramedics, employees and staff. Thank you for your hard work, dedication, sacrifices and for selflessly taking care of the emergency medical needs of our community and saving lives  each and every day. This week we salute all of you!
