In partnership with the River Valley Shelter for Battered Women and Children, the Russellville Police Department is excited to announce the addition of a Victim Advocate, within the police department, which provides enhanced services and resources for those who have suffered from the effects of domestic violence as well as to others who are in need of assistance. With this additional service, our goal is to provide help with advocacy within the criminal justice system, resources, crisis counseling and referrals to community and victim services, lethality or danger assessments, personalized safety plans, or just listen.
This was made possible through a grant that was obtained by the River Valley Shelter through ARPA and the ACADV with an agreement to allow the placement of an advocate within our facility. It is our hope that this arrangement will enhance the efficiency of offering and providing advocacy, not only to the citizens of Russellville but to all those in the River Valley.
The Victim Advocate will have an office on the first floor of the Russellville Police Department and be reached at 479-968-3232 Ext. 1512.
