At 1:53 p.m. Friday afternoon, April 9, the Yell County Mounted Patrol, Arkansas State Parks, Pinnacle EMS and Yell County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to Sunset Point at Mount Nebo State Park after a female fell from a bluff.

According to dispatch, the victim fell about 20-25 feet, was responsive but was injured.

As emergency responders arrived on scene they located the female and made contact with her.

After evaluating her injuries and condition she was placed into a Stokes basket and carried down to a mountain bike trail that was located the area were she was found by State Parks employees and Yell County Mounted Patrol rescuers.

She was then loaded into a State Parks side by side, an all terrain vehicle equipped with a medical bed. She was then transported to the top of the mountain on an extraction trail using the side by side and her care was transferred to Pinnacle EMS.

The victim was then transported to Dardanelle Regional Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment for the injuries she sustained in the fall.

At this time the victim’s identity and the injuries she sustained are unknown but is said to be okay.
