The City of Dardanelle held its 2020 Veteran’s Day Parade on Saturday afternoon, November 7th on Front Street in Dardanelle. The parade was held to honor, recognize and support veterans and to thank them for their service and sacrifice. Parade participants began lining up at 4 p.m. and the Veteran’s Day parade kicked off at 4:30 p.m. as it traveled down Front Street, Members of the community were encouraged to attend and many participated in the parade. Yell County Judge Mark Thone served as master of ceremonies and welcomed everyone and thanked them for the attendance. As the parade passed by the gazebo on Front Street, Judge Thone introduced each group, organization or Veteran who was participating. Arkansas State Representative Mary Bentley participated in the parade and joined the Daughters of American Revolution, Dardanelle Rock Chapter, as they walked along Front Street making their way to the gazebo. Once the parade arrived at the gazebo, DAR members then held their annual Quilts of Valor presentation. Special thanks are given to the City of Dardanelle and Mayor Jimmy Witt, Yell County Judge Mark Thone, Dardanelle Rock Chapter NSDAR, Arkansas State Representative Mary Bentley and everyone who participated in the parade including veterans in the community.
