Everyone was invited to participate and attend the River Valley Cadets Rods on the River Car Show that was be held on Saturday, May 22nd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at River Front Park in Dardanelle.

River Valley Cadets presented their First Annual Car Show on the beautiful Arkansas River. The car show was a fundraiser for the River Valley Cadet summer academy.

Cadets who will attend the academy range from 14-20 years old and have an interest in a career in the Public Safety field. The summer academy teaches them career knowledge and life skills in a wide variety of jobs.

Organizers state that the event was successful and would like to thank everyone who participated and attended the car show as well as the car show’s sponsors who made the event possible.

There were several categories that were awarded on Saturday including Best in Show, Best Interior, Best Exterior, Cadets Choice, Best Bike and the Super Hero Catagory for Emergency Vehicles.

The law enforcement agencies represented at the car show were the Arkansas State Police, Arkansas Tech University Public Safety, Arkansas Game and Fish, Lamar Police Department, the Pope County Sheriff’s Office and the Pottsville Police Department.

Judges for the event were Yell County Chief Deputy John Foster, Danville Police Chief Rick Padgett, and Tom Berryhill with the Yell County Mounted Patrol. Members of the River Valley Cadets voted for the Cadets Choice award, selecting their favorite during the the event.

Special thanks go to the car show sponsors who provided support and made the fundraiser possible.
