Members of the Yell County Quorum Court attended their December meeting on Monday evening, December 10.

During the meeting, members approved their 2019 budget. In the first quarter of 2019, the budget includes a county general of approximately $4.4 million and road budget of just over $2.7 million. Long time member of the court's budget committee, Justice of the Peace J.L. Martin, stated that budgeting efforts have allowed the county to enter 2019 with a 14% carry over and the funding necessary to give employees a 3% raise. The first raise county employees have had in two years.

Before adjourning from the meeting, Yell County Judge Mark Thone honored four Yell County Justices of the Peace Haskell Hicks, Rick Padgett, Russell Hull and Gary Don Spencer as they attended their final meeting.
