A 53-year-old Belleville man was arrested on Sunday, May 21st after a shooting incident occurred that claimed the life of a 29-year-old.
Richard Kevin Gililland, 53 of Belleville was taken into custody by the Yell County Sheriff’s Office for the charge of Murder of First Degree following the death of Kyle Metcalf, 29 of Bluffton.
According to a release provided by the Yell County Sheriff’s Office, “On May 21st, 2023 deputies with the Yell County Sheriff’s Office and Arkansas State Police responded to a call of a gunshot victim in Bluffton. A single victim was located outside the residence. Law enforcement officers took the suspect into custody without incident. The victim was later identified as Kyle Metcalf of Bluffton. The suspect, Richard Gililland is being held at the Yell County Detention Center on 1st Degree Homicide charges. His bond was set at $2,000,000 cash.”
At this time, Gililland remains in custody at the Yell County Detention Center awaiting the filing of formal charges.
