At approximately 3:45 p.m. Monday, January 11, the Crow Mountain Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire threatening a structure at 223 Austin Lane in their fire district.
Upon the arrival firefighters, they offered dispatchers and other responding units a size up of the scene. Firefighters confirmed a pick up truck was on fire at the address, but the vehicle fire was not threatening the structure, a mobile home, that was located nearby.
Firefighters made a fast attack on the flames that began to consume the truck and after gaining control of the fire, it was later extinguished. After ensuring the fire was out, firefighters began packing up their hoses and equipment.
At 4:23 p.m., command of the call was terminated and Crow Mountain firefighters advised dispatch they were returning to their station available for service.
The truck was destroyed in the incident, but the surrounding property including a mobile home was protected in the fire fight. At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown.
