During this national emergency the Johnson County Detention Center lobby has been closed completely to the public. As a result, video visitation for their inmates was discontinued.

Johnson County Sheriff Stephens and Jail Administrator, Sonja McCuen are proud to announce that their inmate phone service provider has agreed to provide each inmate with one free 15-minute phone call per week until the isolation restrictions are lifted.

Johnson County officials stated, “We didn't want to discontinue the visitations, but in order to keep the facility free from the possible exposure to the Coronavirus, it was imperative to close the lobby thus stopping the visitations. This extra call will help keep inmates in contact with their family during this stressfull time. We are very grateful to NCIC for offering this solution.”
