On November 7, 2020, at approximately 7:53 p.m., officers of the Russellville Police Department were dispatched to the 800 block of West 4th Place in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival officers began interviewing witnesses and then developed a suspect.

At approximately 11:45 p.m. Saturday night, officers conducted a traffic stop and took the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Darius Ross, into custody.

After placing Ross under arrest, he was transported to the Pope County Detention Center and released to corrections officers. A felony hold was placed on him for Aggravated Assault.

On Monday, November 9, 2020, Ross appeared in a felony bond hearing for the Aggravated Assault charge before District Court Judge Don Bourne.

After probable cause was determined in holding Ross on the charge, Judge Bourne set Ross’ bond in the amount of $50,000 and ordered Ross to appear in a plea arraignment hearing that will be set for a later date in Pope County Circuit Court at the Pope County Courthouse.

No injuries were reported following the incident and no injuries have been reported at this time.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Russellville Police Department and more information will be released as it becomes available.

At the time of this story, Ross remained in custody at the Pope County Detention Center.
