At approximately 4:13 p.m. Saturday, September 4, Johnson County 911 received a calls reporting gunshots from inside the Clarksville Walmart. The Clarksville Police Department, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas Astarte Police, Lamar Police Department, US Forestry Commission, Arkansas Highway Police and Arkansas Tech officers responded to the location.
Upon the arrival of officers, the store was cleared. According to the Clarksville Police Department, “Through the investigation it was learned that there was not a gun shot, but a defective bicycle tire that exploded.”
The Clarksville Police Department would like to extend their gratitude to all the responding agencies including the Clarksville Fire Department, Johnson Regional Medical Center EMS, and Pafford Ambulance Service for their supporting roles.
