A 42-year-old man wanted by authorities in connection with a homicide that occurred on Tuesday evening off of Highway 10 in Danville has been captured.

At 3:45 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, September 23, Danville homicide suspect Carlos Lopez Pacheco was located at a residence on Park Avenue in Danville and arrested. After he was placed into custody, Pacheco was transported to the Yell County Detention Center where he was booked on the charge of Murder in the First Degree.

According to a release by the Yell County Sheriff’s Department, Carlos Lopez Pacheco, 42 of Royal Oaks, California was arrested in connection with a homicide that occurred in Danville Tuesday evening, September 22. Officers from the Yell County Sheriff's Department, Danville Police Department and Arkansas State Police worked throughout the night and the day on Wednesday following leads.  

Pacheco was apprehended at an abandoned residence on Park Avenue in Danville at approximately 3:45 pm this afternoon by officers following a tip from a citizen. Officers were already in the area searching with tracking dogs from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office who had responded to assist Wednesday afternoon.  

Yell County Sheriff Bill Gilkey said that no information on the victim will be released at this time but he wanted to thank all the officers from each agency involved in the investigation.

Pacheco will appear in a probable cause hearing facing the First Degree Murder charge where his bond will be set.
