The Hector Wildcats improved to 9-3 overall and 7-2 in conference with a 66-53 win over the Quitman Bulldogs on Tuesday.

"This was a big win for us on the road in conference play last night," Wildcats head coach Ben Freeman said. "We had contributions from everyone whether it was rebounding or getting the loose balls---total team effort for this win."

Hector led 11-10 after the first quarter and 30-28 at halftime. After the third quarter, they went up 47-40.

Isaac Stanek scored 26 points during the win. Jacob Casto and Luke Brown scored 10 points each. Blake George scored nine points. Treys Smedley scored six points. Drake Riley scored five points.

Lady Wildcats fall 56-36

The Lady Wildcats fell to 6-6 overall and 4-5 with a 56-36 loss to Quitman on Tuesday.

Quitman led 15-8 after the first quarter and 32-22. After the third quarter, Hector was down 40-31.

Hallie Mosley and Josie Taylor led in scoring with 10 points each.

The Junior Lady Wildcats lost 50-21 with Quitman. Kyleigh McConnell led in scoring in that game with 14 points.
