The Lady Pirates couldn't get enough to get over the Lady Mustangs of Perryville, falling 83-80 in 3OT on Tuesday night.
The Lady Pirates are generating high offensive chemistry and averaging 65 points a game, but the Lady Mustangs had just what it took to beat them at the horn and hand the Lady Pirates a loss.
Despite the loss, the Lady Pirates have been playing outstanding and head coach Kristian Williams was complimentary of the way the team is coming together.
"This was another fun exciting game to coach and it was another high-stakes game in a big-time atmosphere. Our girls played extremely hard and played to win we just had a few things not go our way. One of those was turnovers. You just can't have as many as we have and expect to have a secure win", stated Williams.
"Another issue we had was broken assignments on defense, but these are both two big things that we can correct and learn from and move forward. There really are no breaks in this conference and in a way that's a good thing because it sharpens us for district regional and state play", concluded Williams.
The Lady Pirates move to 16-3 on the season and will travel to Maumelle Charter on Friday.
