Pottsville Apaches

Pottsville 42, Ozark 35

Anytime you can go to someone else's gym and get a victory it is a good night.  When you can go to Ozark and get a win over the Lady Hillbillies and get a victory that is even better.  Ozark, a girls basketball power, in the state is a tough win no matter where you play them and the Pottsville Lady Apaches were able to get a victory Friday Night 12-14 over the Lady Hillbillies at Hillbilly Athlectic Center.

Pottsville got a 42-35 victory over the Lady Hillbillies after a slow start.  Sophia Hampton hit five 3-pointers and lead the Lady Apaches with 23 points.  The Lady Apaches were able to distance themselves from the Lady Hillbillies in the third quarter.  After only scoring 15 first half points Pottsville was able to score 16 in the third quarter alone to take a 31-20 lead into the final stanza.  Ozark was able to shave four points off that lead in the fourth quarter but it would not be enough.  In addition to Hampton's 23 Shannon Lasey added 14.  Pottsville's next game will be against the DeQueen Lady Leopards in the Hoops for Hunger event at Cyclone Arena on December 27.
